PRSA National announced its
slate of candidates for 2011 leadership positions today. Special thanks to those members of the Western District who came forward with interest in serving at the national level and congratulations to
Marisa Valbona, APR, PRSA Fellow (president,
CIM Incorporated, La Jolla, Calif.) for securing the slot on the slate as the Director for the Western District. Marisa is from the
San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter. The slate will be voted upon at the 2011 National Assembly meeting in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 16. The newly elected directors will join incumbent members of the
Board, including our own B.J. Whitman, APR, PRSA Fellow (from the
Hawaii Chapter) who serves as an At-Large Director.
An additional round of hearty congratulations is also extended to the following PRSA members from the Western District who will be adding "PRSA Fellow" to their business cards after the induction ceremony this fall:

San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter)
- Jane Dvorak, APR (
Colorado Chapter)
- Dennis Gaschen, APR (

I am proud to note that the Western District has more Fellows in the class of 2010 than any other district in PRSA. This is a testament to the tradition of outstanding work, unparalleled expertise and amazing leadership coming from our professional community.
If you know one of these folks, drop them an email to congratulate them on this incredible achievement.
